Hello! I am Mrs. Madeline Landseadel (most call me Maddy!) and I am so happy to be your math teacher. This will be my fifth year teaching 7th and 8th grade math at Los Cerritos Middle School, and my third year teaching Leadership. I absolutely love LCMS and feel blessed to be able to do what I love everyday. I graduated from Royal High School (Go Highlanders!) in 2010, and went on to earn my Bachelor of Science Degree in Mathematics from California Lutheran University. I graduated in 2014, with Departmental Distinction and Summa Cum Laude Honors. In my senior year, I was able to publish my capstone thesis in an undergraduate mathematics journal, you can find it here!
I proceeded to earn my Single Subject Secondary Mathematics Credential from CLU in May of 2015. I was fortunate enough to experience a semester of student teaching at LCMS and work under my mentor and good friend (and CVUSD Teacher of the Year 2016!) Mrs. Karen Greenberg. I also worked alongside Mrs. Debbie Boden, and quickly realized that the LCMS Math Department is extraordinary! I am honored to be a part of it. I completed my Masters of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction from Grand Canyon University in June of 2018. I am excited to be the new Math Department Chair for LCMS in the 2019-2020 school year, what a privilege!
I married my husband, Ryan, in June 2015, and am loving married life. My husband is a Support Coordinator for Tri-Counties Regional Center, and an amazing drummer. He is currently earning his Masters in School Counseling. Together we have a pit bull named Ace who is our spoiled only child for now. We definitely have hopes of growing our family in the near future! Outside of school I enjoy working out, hiking with Ace, spending time with family, traveling, going to the beach, and catching a dance class when I can. I feel blessed to be your teacher and am looking forward to an exciting year with you as my student.
